Coach Tara's Goodbye Party

While we were thrilled that our coach had finished her Ph.D., we were dreading the day when she would leave us to pursue work outside academia. The party we held in June celebrated Tara's achievements and thanked her for her dedication to the Moscow Chinooks for 4 years (Spring 2003 - Summer 2007).

At Tara's Ph.D. dissertation defense party, the Chinooks presented her with a T-shirt from the short course nationals swim meet from which she had to scratch in order to prepare...it was the weekend before her Monday defense! On the reverse side it says "Dr. Coach."

Tara's goodbye party came soon after her dissertation defense when she announced that she would be moving to the westside to do a post-doc. We gathered at Joan Alexander's house for the party.

Tara is incredibly excited with her Ph.D. gift from the Chinooks: money for new ultimate frisbee cleats.
